In Loving Memory of Tuing Dungau@Johnson Ngimat

Since time immemorial mankind has seen loved ones, relatives and friends come and go throughout his life. There is no halting the process of death neither can we predict when loved ones will depart this earth. Some depart us without warning while others are more predictable given the rough estimates of how much more time they have remaining. On the 10th of May this year, Tuing Dungau@Johnson Ngimat suddenly departed this wonderful World leaving loved ones, relatives and friends to mourn his premature passing. This is indeed a sad moment for all of us. We have lost such a great person. I think by the sharing of our sorrow and grief will go in some way towards helping us ease our burdens. Without a doubt our brother Tuing Dungau, meant a lot to each one of us in a number of ways and for different reasons. To me personally, he was my best friend, a cousin and like a great brother.

The late Tuing Dungau was indeed a colourful character. He knew how to be serious at times and he also knew when to joke and be his jovial self. As a friend he was also very dear to me. He possessed a very polite personality. His cheerful approach and love of life made him a natural among his loved ones and peers. His passing on is a great loss to his family and those who knew him. To his own community, the Kenyah Leppo Ke he will be sadly missed. Right up to the moment of his passing his energies were fully devoted to raising funds for the construction of the Leppo Ke church.

I know our brother left lots of things undone and others that he never had a chance to initiate. But I’ve made a solemn promise to continue what he has started and hopefully fulfill these on his behalf. This is just my small way of saying ‘thank you’ for everything he has done for me. Let’s just be thankful for all the special moments that he has left with us together with the hope that our brother’s memory will continue to live on in our hearts and lives in the years ahead..
